OklaStrong Program comes to Osage!
This past year the Osage Nation and the Osage County Tourism Oversight Committee have worked diligently to bring tourism into the Osage. The honor of receiving the Governor’s Award for our Osage Nation Visitor’s Guide was an exceptional highlight for the year. Another award we have recently received is for the development of a marketing strategy from Oklahoma State Tourism. This award was granted to only 5 communities in Oklahoma and we are so fortunate to be a recipient.
Another ongoing effort is the Osage Nation Native American Byway project along Hwy 60. We are very close to beginning work provided by the planning grant the Nation received for this byway.
To kickoff the OklaStrong Program marketing project in the Osage we are bringing a large team of Oklahoma Tourism Professionals to the Osage. This is an exciting event where the team will set up and show what they do as tourism professionals at shows around the world. Just like the major conferences that go on for tourism we want to bring to you a mini-conference packed with information we all need to promote tourism in the Osage. There will be booths set up by each tourism group to provide one-on-one interaction and answer all of your questions. This conference will give you an overview of what these professionals do each year and what everyone needs to know about promoting tourism in our area.
Come and learn about projects currently underway such as the Osage Nation Heritage Trail Byway, the Osage County Tourism Oversight Committee projects that include Tourist Kiosks in various communities, the new County Attractions Map for visitors, and the Lavafield Database collection software for tracking business and visitor information.
This is a chance for all of us to come together, learn and appreciate what we have to offer in the Osage, and to see that when we collaborate our efforts, we can make a difference. If you are a business owner that receives visitors in this area, or if you would like to develop a tourism destination in the Osage, you will benefit from this conference. There is no cost to attend.
