The Osage Tourism department has hosted a variety of events including “A Taste of Osage Cuisine” where Osage cooks demonstrated their talents and treated guests to the exquisite delicacies, which have come to be known as traditional Osage fare at many traditional gatherings. “Stories of the Cedar Chest” is a new event in which we offer families the opportunity to share some of their heirlooms and tell stories of their families or family members. These events and stories will be filmed and added to the Osage Cultural Center’s audio archives. We hope families will come forth and offer their tales of ancestors to tribal members and the public. This event will occur every three months.
Another event hosted by the Tourism Dept. is the annual “Osage Christmas Bazaar” where vendors are provided the opportunity to display their talents and wares, and shoppers have the opportunity to purchase one of a kind gifts for that someone special.
We hope that some of the other events we host will become annual events as well. Your thoughts and ideas are always welcome and encouraged.
