May 21, 2009
Just wanted to tell you about our 2009 Meth training we attended on May the 18th & 19th put on by DOJ - COPS and Lamar Associaties.
This training is one of the best trainings I've ever been to. It was very inter-active and informative. And I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in learning all the aspects of Meth.
On the 1st day we went over trafficking and how they - the Mexican Cartel- are able to get the product from one location to another. And how they are trying to set up on Tribal Lands. Then we spent the afternoon going over all the jurisdictional issues that are involved with is whole Meth Mess; and that was very interesting to kind of get an under standing of how and why the wheels of government seem to spin so slow and at times it was a little over my head which made it hard to follow but, all in all it was very good and useful information.
On the 2nd day I had the most fun I've had in I can't remember when. We went over how Meth effects the children, people who handle, surrounding materials, animals and all who are involved in the manufacturing of Meth right down to the clean up process. Pretty scary stuff for all who are involved! We spent the 2nd half of the day in groups coming up with five 6 month and 1 year goals for our program and the surrounding communities for fighting Meth. Then we went around the room in true show and tell fashion and got to learn about all who attended and in the process made some really positive contacts. I would just like to thank my program and the Nation for this wonderful opportunity.
