Legislation passes Congress and signed by Principal Chief

On Tuesday, April 3, 2007 the Osage Nation Congress passed the child support codes with a unanimous vote (12-yes, 0-no). Today, April 5, 2007 the Osage Nation Principal Chief, Jim Gray, signed the legislation into law. We have now sent those off to DC and our comprehensive plan will be complete upon the codes being received by DC.

This will give DC 60 days for review and comments. We are hoping to have our approval from DC by the first part of June. At which time, we will be able to transfer the cases that the Chickasaw Nation is handling to our own department. We will also then be able to start accepting new applications.

In the meantime, feel free to contact us with any questions.
