Osage Nation Environmental and Natural Resources Department Receives Environmental Excellence Award

The Environmental Protection Agency Region 6 recently awarded the Osage Nation Environmental and Natural Resources Department, the “2010 Environmental Excellence Award” for conducting an outstanding Watershed Forum in 2010. The award was presented at the 14th Annual Tribal Environmental Summit by Al Armendariz, Regional Administrator of EPA Region 6.

The Osage Nation Watershed Forum - Finding Common Ground: Building Partnerships to Better Manage our Waters Resources was held in Tulsa, Oklahoma on August 24-26, 2010. Participating in the planning and organization of the forum from the ENR Department were Diane Daniels, Danna Washbourne, Brad Stumph, Beverly LaCrone, Julia Wright, Jann Rose, Danielle Cass, and Christina Mashunkashey.

For their support or assistance in making this forum a success, a special thanks goes to Principal Chief John D. Red Eagle, the Osage Nation Congress, Bruce Cass, Tribal Princesses Vanessa Moore and Robynn Rulo, the Osage Singers, the Marine Corps League Osage Detachment #669 Honor Guard, Dr. Andrea Hunter, Dawn Haney, the Osage Childcare Department, and the Osage Million Dollar Elm Casino.
