New Dates &
Times…Tune In!!
Everything an Indian does is in a circle,
and he believes the power of the world
always works in circles. In the old days,
Indian people's power came from the
sacred hoop of the nation, and so long
as the hoop was unbroken the people
flourished. Colonization and conquest
broke the hoop.
Nearly every Indian tribe traditionally
refers to itself as "The People" or
"The Humans." This month, Stateline
explores efforts in Oklahoma to
preserve languages and culture--the
identity of The People. [The Osage
Nation Language Program will be
featured in these episodes]
