Greetings from Osage Nation Head Start!
The school year is well underway and has been an absolute joy. Ms. Heather and I are enjoying our time getting to know and teach your child. The first two weeks of school our themes were "Our School" and "Staying Safe". The students have been learning about the rules at school, how to be safe on the playground and what to expect from our daily routine. They have also begun recognizing and connecting to shapes, colors, letters and their own name. We sing a variety of songs, poems, finger plays and read many books, so there is a chance you have heard your child chanting a number of these familiar pieces. This week we have started talking about safety. We have been focusing on our body, emotions and public safety. This theme will carry into the first two weeks of September. Looking ahead to the month of September our themes will include "My healthy Body" and "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom (letters recognition)"
The following is a list of important dates to remember for the month of September:
Sep 11-12, Developmental Screenings
Sep 19, Health Fair @ 9:00a.m. In Pawhuska at the fairgrounds
Bus Phone = 918-695-4643
Office Phone = 918-699-5561
Each week I will be sending home an activity packet for your child to work on with your help. This will give you the opportunity to see what areas your child needs additional help in. Permission slips will be sent out and need to be returned to me, Ms. Alison, so that your child will be able to attend the Health and Safety fair. All parents are encouraged to attend the field trips with their child.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact us. Thank you for sharing your child with us!
