In order to do business with the ONGC, suppliers and vendors must meet strict licensing requirements, which help prevent organized crime and other criminal operations. We not only require licensing for major gaming equipment manufacturers (slot machine manufacturers) but also suppliers and vendors that meet certain gross gaming revenue thresholds. Even businesses supplying non- gaming-related products (paper supplies) are to be licensed thru the Osage Nation Gaming Commission. They must be in good standing with all governmental jurisdictions in which it conducts business, good standing with all taxing jurisdictions and good reputation with no ties or other associations with any felons or persons of dishonest or disreputable character.

Our department is currently staffed by Adrea Geisler Vendor Licensing Specialist, Sophie Garrett Vendor Licensing Assistant, and Mable Lackey Vendor Licensing Assistant. In order to establish that a vendor is reputable and worthy of licensing, we must conduct certain searches to verify information regarding a vendor, its principles and their technicians prior to that company being licensed with the Osage Nation. Vendor licensing is a very lengthy process. It consists of background investigation of the company itself, as well as the principles of that company and their technicians. During a background investigation, we verify that a company is who and what they claim to be and that the company is of a reputable status within its industry. We also verify any criminal records pertaining to the company, the principles of that company and the company's technicians. This type of investigation process requires us to conduct public criminal record checks, national criminal record checks, credit reports, personal verification, employment verification and any other type of search that may deem necessary to complete the licensing process.
