August 24, 2011

TULSA, Okla. (August 23, 2011) – Osage Nation representatives officially signed three land-into-trust applications Tuesday for Osage Casinos in Tulsa, Skiatook and Ponca City.  The applications were approved by the U.S. Department of Interior in July.

On hand for the signing were Osage Nation Principal Chief John D. Red Eagle, Osage Casinos CEO Neil Cornelius and The Bureau of Indian Affairs Regional Director (Eastern Oklahoma Region) Charles Head.  Red Eagle expressed his joy for finalizing the process.

“We are pleased with the work of the Department of Interior and how they expedited the process for us,” Red Eagle said, “Getting tribal land placed into trust can often take years, so we feel fortunate to have this matter resolved in such a short amount of time.”
