Oklahoma City will be hosting the NIEA conference at the Cox Convention Center on October 18-21 in 2012. The Local Planning Committee is looking for a theme and logo that will best combine Oklahoma’s tribal cultures with technology and education. The image chosen will be used nation-wide on all publicity and promotional items. The artist will be awarded $750 and invited to attend NIEA 2012 honor banquet.
The National Indian Education Association was established in 1969 and is the only national nonprofit exclusive to education issues for American Indian, Alaska Natives, and Native Hawaiian educators and students. These advocates work to keep our Native cultures in our homes, communities, and classrooms and lobby on Capitol Hill to ensure that the government maintains its trust responsibilities to the Native people of the US.
