Education Department To Be Open In Evening

On November 4, 5, 6th, 2008 from 5– 8:30pm the Osage Nation Education Department will be open for all students and their parents who plan to attend post-secondary schools. The computer lab will also be open for those that want to register for ACT/SAT tests, apply for a FAFSA pin, scholarship search, college search, etc. If you would like to set up an appointment during one of these evenings for individual advisement and planning please call Cherise @ 918-287- 5544 to set up a time.

 

 Advisement topics:

  •  Assistance with applications including: FAFSA, ACT,SAT, college/university, scholarships, etc.
  •  Important things they need to know as an incoming freshman: study time, instructor’s office hours, and tutoring services.
  • Other opportunities that might be available to that student. (IHS,WINS,AAIP, etc…)
  • The offices they need to be familiar with, where they are located, and what services they provide.
  • Materials needed: degree sheets, course catalogs, syllabi, and class schedules
  • Discussion of g.p.a requirements and how they effect funding from scholarships to financial aid and the probationary status if a particular g.p.a. is not attained.

 

The Osage Nation Education Department would like to bring awareness to students on the things they need to know and to prepare them to be successful in their pursuit of higher education.
