August 23, 2009
The 2009 Indian Country Business Summit will bring federal, state, local and tribal buyers together with companies from all over Oklahoma and Texas August 23-25.
The Summit, entering its third year, will be held at the Best Western Hotel and Conference Center in Lawton. The conference will focus on bringing buyers and sellers together to produce new business opportunities and introduce new suppliers to government agencies.
The ICBS is historically presented by the American Indian Chamber of Commerce of Oklahoma and two business assistance programs in Oklahoma, the Oklahoma Bid Assistance Network and the Tribal Government Institute. This year the sponsors have been joined by the American Indian Chamber of Commerce of Texas, offering several new sessions to the program that will involve markets in that state.
Sponsors include Picerne Military Housing, contractor on many housing privatization projects across the country.
Guest speakers include Ed Hall, American Indian Native Alaskan Tourism Association, and Gary Wade, Business Technical Specialist, U.S. Department of Interior.
The conference offers business training sessions, match making sessions that allow businesses to present briefly to a panel of buyers, and various entertainment and cultural events that will enhance the networking opportunities.
