CERTIFIED FFS TRAINER:
LU McCRAW, MPH, CHES

Freedom from Smoking (FFS) facilitator training is available for anyone wanting to become certified to lead FFS classes in their workplace and/or community. FFS is the smoking cessation program sponsored by the American Lung Association to help individuals quit smoking or using smokeless tobacco. This is a great opportunity to enhance your capacity to address tobacco issues in your community.

These classes can be delivered over the course of eight clinic sessions. Each session can be tailored to fit your worksite or community. Class time depends on the number of participants and can be 45 minutes or an hour or more. The first three sessions are preparatory, session four is a “cold turkey” Quit Day. The sessions that follow are designed to help the smoker through the difficult change, and focus on ways to maintain a permanent smoke-free status.

Facilitators must be tobacco-free for one year and be willing to conduct smoking cessation classes in their school, workplace or community.

REFRESHMENTS WILL BE PROVIDED WITH LUNCH ON YOUR OWN.
