The Osage Nation Child Care Program is recruiting new daycare centers, daycare homes and family home providers for our program. To download the W-9 form required, please visit the IRS website @ www.irs.gov and type in "W-9" in the search box. We constantly hear the same thing from clients all across the Reservation. The daycares of their choice are full and most of the time, have a waiting list. Parents need quality childcare now and we need more daycare centers and daycare homes now!
As an incentive for new centers and homes to open up and enroll in our program, we are providing new providers with items that all new daycares need, such as: a tub that includes items like a fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide detector, a first aid kit, basic cleaning supplies, games and books for the children and even some art supplies. These items will be given to each new center, home and family home provider during their first home visit by our monitor. All new businesses need help and we believe in making it easier for our child care providers to focus on what’s most important, the children.
Current providers can attest to the wonderful gifts & supplies their centers receive during our annual provider training. Each center receives hundreds of dollars worth of gifts & supplies as well as free training that gives you credit toward your annual continuing education you are required to have through the state. What do you have to do to get these wonderful gifts? Show up! Our monitor goes around to each center during site visits and together with the providers, determines what the daycare center or home needs most, sometimes its a swing set, sometimes it’s print cartridges to do your billing. Regardless of the need, we try to fill it based on the individual need of the center or home.
Another tool that we consider an asset is our new resource center. The Osage Nation Child Care Program has invested over $20,000 on a new resource center for our providers. This is a place where providers have access to free internet service, word processing programs, color printers and copiers, scanners, an endless supply of various styles of paper, an Ellison cutter, a large laminating machine, a book binding system operated by foot controls, office supplies, etc. ALL OF THIS IS FREE OF CHARGE TO OUR PROVIDERS AT THIS TIME.
