The 2009 schedule for the Nurturing Parenting parenting skills classes are scheduled to begin Wednesday August 26, 2009. There are only 20 spots available for each session and no new applicants can be admitted after the 2nd class of each series.

Some of what the Nurturing Parenting Program touches on is discipline, morals, values, family rules, praise, nurturing touch, empathy, why parents spank, understanding and handling stress, choices and consequences, recognizing feelings, “I” vs. “You” statements, Helping Kids Handle Feelings, Problem Solving, anger/rules for fair fighting, criticism and confrontation, bodies, sex, touch and personal space, families/alcohol/drugs and many more topics in between. The scope of this curriculum is so much broader and it touches on the actual problems that families face today.
